I practice the art of photography because its my way of being of service to the world. Not only does it bring more beauty and love and inspiration through visual poetry, but it is also deeply nourishing. As an artist, it feeds my soul to make art and be of service in this way. It is also a powerful way for me to create a safe space for individuals to heal as we allow ourselves to be seen while capturing magical photos. Slowly those dormant parts inside of us awaken. This process is what I call Alchemy of Love.
This process began from a desire to heal my own pain. Like love, pain can be a powerful motivator in life. It was for me when I realized that I wasn't happy. With myself, with my work, and in my relationships. I searched for ways to understand what it is that I need in my soul to be happy. And the answer I found was not in the future, or in the past, or in others either, but in the present moment.
embracing myself as I am here and now. Without trying to change who i am, was the beginning of my journey towards self-love and self-acceptance.
We can be so hard on ourselves sometimes, and life can be a challenging place to live. So practicing self-love and cultivating a daily practice, showing up the best of our ability and looking at ourselves in the mirror and saying; I love you as you are, takes courage.
My mission is to inspire other people to do the same when it comes to their own healing journey. Embrace everything. Embrace it all. The beautiful and the ugly. There is no right or wrong here. Just love.
A transformation begins when we are held in a safe space of love. Through this experience with photography, we can allow all parts of ourselves to emerge and be seen in the light. We make art with those parts of ourselves and hopefully we end up finding them beautiful. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to adjust our eyes to what we are seeing. Its like looking at an older picture of ourselves and we think, wow I was really pretty here, why did I not like myself? Did that ever happen to you? I know it happened to me. And it made me want to embrace more all of me in every moment in time. Every moment is a happy memory in the eyes of love.
